SFER IK is a museum that asks for your shoes at the door: floors of woven wood ripple underfoot, walls curve like something grown, and the art shares the space with the jungle that pushes through it.
Twenty-five minutes from Tulum, it's the strangest, most beautiful hour of architecture on this coast.
Why we recommend it
Museums usually ask you to look. This one asks you to balance, duck, touch and wander barefoot: the building is the first exhibit, and no photograph prepares you for walking it.
What you'll experience
Shoes off, phones optional, an hour of slow wandering under the woven ceiling, contemporary pieces appearing between vines and portals, and the gift shop is actually worth the stop, which we don't say lightly.
